Bungalow Refurbishment

The Project
This project involved the full refurbishment and reconfiguration of a dated two-bedroom bungalow to significantly improve layout, functionality and overall value.
The existing layout did not make the best use of space, with the conservatory only accessible through a rear bedroom and the kitchen positioned at the front of the property.
To maximise the potential of the property, the internal layout was completely reworked to create a more modern and practical living space suited to today’s buyers.
Key Improvements
Converted a 2-bedroom property into a 3-bedroom layout
Removed walls to create a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area
Relocated the kitchen from the front to the rear of the property
Created direct access to the conservatory from the main living space
Converted the original kitchen into an additional bedroom
Reconfigured the front living/dining area into:
Master bedroom
Third bedroom / dressing room (with skylight installed)
Redesigned the bathroom to create a modern 4-piece suite with improved space efficiency
Works Carried Out
Full strip-out
Full rewire
Full re-plaster throughout
New kitchen installation
Bathroom redesign and installation
Upgraded radiators (existing boiler retained)
Replacement windows where required
Front porch removed and new window installed
External rendering to modernise the frontage
New garden fencing
Light landscaping to keep maintenance low
Before & After
A selection of key transformation stages throughout the refurbishment.
The Result
Completion
The completed property offers a far more functional layout, increased bedroom count, and a desirable open-plan living space.
These changes significantly improved both the market appeal and overall value of the property, resulting in a successful resale.
Added Value Through Design
By rethinking the layout rather than simply refurbishing, this project demonstrates how strategic changes can unlock a property's full potential and maximise return on investment.
